We are looking for an experienced and dynamic International Tax Lawyer to lead a senior role within our Family Office. The ideal candidate will be a tax professional with a deep expertise in cross-border taxation, wealth structuring, and compliance, who can provide strategic tax planning advice to high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and family businesses.
This role requires a strong understanding of international tax laws, treaties, regulations, currency and sanction legislation and the ability to manage complex tax and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy:
- Resolve the International Tax issues, overseeing a team of tax professionals.
- Develop and implement tax strategies for HNWIs and family members, ensuring the preservation and growth of wealth through efficient tax structuring.
- Provide expert advice on international tax matters, including cross-border transactions, estate planning, and trust structures.
- Stay updated on global tax trends, new laws, and potential risks, ensuring compliance and identifying tax-saving opportunities.
- Tax Planning & Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions for various jurisdictions.
- Advise on and coordinate tax, currency and sanctions compliance across different countries, minimizing tax liabilities and regulatory risks while ensuring full legal compliance.
- Ensure effective management of transfer pricing, CFC rules, and BEPS regulations.
- Support the implementation of global mobility programs, addressing taxation issues for family members residing in different countries.
- Wealth & Asset Structuring:
- Provide strategic advice on tax-efficient asset ownership and wealth structuring (e.g., trusts, foundations, holding companies).
- Assist in designing and implementing inheritance and succession planning solutions that align with the family's long-term goals.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with legal, finance, and investment teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business and investment decisions.
- Liaise with external advisors, tax authorities, and international tax bodies when necessary.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Law (LLM certification preferred).
- Experience: minimum 7-10 years of experience in international tax consulting, preferably in a family office, private client services, or Big Four environment. Proven track record of advising HNWIs and managing tax issues across multiple jurisdictions.
- Skills: deep knowledge of international tax regulations, treaties, and cross-border wealth management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
