Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and maintain controls to mitigate potential operational and financial risks effectively
- Reconcile trade data across internal systems and external counterparties, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
- Cooperate with Operations and Trading teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure data integrity
- Develop documents and refine internal control procedures
- Design, implement and enhance control mechanisms to optimize trading and financial processes
- Prepare and deliver regular reports to operational and financial teams, providing analysis and recommendations to address system inefficiencies or errors
- Compile and escalate comprehensive reports to senior management, highlighting critical issues and proposed resolution
- Collaborate closely with trading, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment of goals
- Offer expertise and support on financial, operational, and compliance matters to internal stakeholders
- Work with IT and systems teams to ensure accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement of data and systems infrastructure
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and present actionable recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and profitability
- Drive the implementation of new tools and processes to improve reporting accuracy, strengthen controls, and maintain compliance
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
- 3-5 years of proven experience in financial control, risk management, or a comparable role, preferably in the oil and gas or commodities trading sectors
- Strong understanding of trading practices, financial instruments, and industry-specific accounting principles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis tools
- Exceptional command of English, both written and spoken
- Ability to perform under pressure, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet stringent deadlines
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Attention to details and a demonstrated ability to work with complex datases
