ATU Duty Free was founded in 2000 as a joint venture between TAV Airports Holding and Unifree Duty Free/Gebr. Heinemann. It is a combination of airport owner/landlord, retailer and distributor/supplier that brings together the three core competencies of the industry and puts us ahead of our competitors.

And it is this unique combination that has moved ATU Duty Free from its beginnings – operating an 80 sq.m store, to becoming, 21 years later, one of the worlds top travel retail companies. We now operate 110 shops covering 25.000 sqm of retail space, spanning 21 airports in 7 countries across the globe.

Headquartered in Istanbul, ATU employs more than 1.600 people worldwide, serving approximately 100 million customers annually.

We're looking for a "Head of Accounting" for Kazakhstan operation

Responsibilities :

  • Supervise daily accounting, tax compliance, planning and reporting cycles of the company under local regulations, ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring that all accounting and tax functions are carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation, global standards and ATU rules
  • Follow-up of all issues with accounting and tax implications and ensuring that they are structured and implemented in accordance with the relevant legislation and company rules
  • To prepare the reports to be submitted to the senior management in an error-free, timely, understandable and informative manner
  • To determine the profitability of the company and to ensure the preparation of financial reports and declarations to be submitted to official institutions in accordance with the relevant legal regulations
  • Collaborating and supporting other teams under the Finance and Financial Affairs Coordination Office in all matters related to accounting and taxation
  • Ensuring cooperation and coordination with the accounting and tax teams of partner companies in tax matters
  • Execution of the audit processes and relations with the tax authorities of the ATU group company
  • Providing support to non-Financial Affairs teams on all accounting and tax issues
  • To plan all activities of the department in a way to prevent loss of time, to distribute tasks effectively, to create the work organization of the team and to contribute to the development of the team with effective feedback, to plan the necessary trainings for the development of the technical and abstract skills of the team and to make individual performance evaluations in line with concrete targets
  • Reports to the Finance Coordinator

Qualifications & Experience :

  • BCs degree from a reputable university
  • Strong technical knowledge and full understanding of local tax and accounting regulations and IFRS principles
  • Work experience in international companies (especially trade companies with involvement in import/export transactions) is an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP FI
  • Advanced MS Excel skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
