Mulberry Academy, a progressive microschool and learning community located on the campus of Nazarbayev University in Astana, is seeking a dynamic and innovative Language Arts and History teacher for a mixed-age classroom (ages 6 to 10, grades 1–4).

We are looking for an educator who is passionate about inspiring a love of reading, writing, and history through engaging, project-based learning experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Imlement a curriculum that integrates language arts and history/social studies.
  • Be comfortable teaching in a flexible, small, mixed-age classroom.
  • Assist in developing individual learning activities based on each student’s
    gifts, talents, abilities, social and emotional needs, and learning preferences.
  • Incorporate play-based learning approaches to foster curiosity, imagination, and deeper understanding.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes critical
    thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in education, language arts, history, or related
    field AND/OR minimum 1-2 years of experience teaching language arts and
    history to elementary level students.
  • Strong content knowledge in language arts and history/social studies.
  • Knowledge of general curriculum and instruction.
  • Willingness to learn about project-based learning, differentiated instruction, and assessment practices.
  • Fluency in English required.
