A major digital bank in Azerbaijan is hiring a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with expertise in banking, open to relocation to Baku.
Main Job Requirements:
• Developing a new generation of technology leaders committed to achieving business objectives;
• Designing structures and processes to enable Agile working practices, and providing continuous coaching and mentoring to employees;
• Defining projects aligned with the organization’s strategic goals;
• Optimizing the budget;
• Understanding technical solutions and proposing new ones, while promoting innovation and solution-oriented thinking;
• Ensuring operational efficiency within the technology field;
• Ensuring that the technology function complies with IT standards as well as risk and regulatory requirements;
• Achieving the semi-annual and annual performance targets set by the Bank and agreed upon by the employee;
• Performing other verbal and written assignments given by the direct supervisor.
Required knowledge, skill and experience:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field;
• Work Experience: At least 9 years of experience in a relevant field, including 6 years in a similar functional role;
• Foreign Languages: Fluent in English and Russian;
• Computer Skills:
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Understanding of software development processes and IT infrastructure
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Single Sign-On (SSO), and LDAP
- Awareness of ITIL, COBIT, and other relevant standards
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Product Knowledge: Understanding of IT standards and banking systems. Familiarity with cloud technologies and virtualization tools;
• Market Knowledge: Understanding of business processes. Familiarity with banking operations and awareness of the fintech sector;
• Other: Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to resolve conflicts effectively. Innovative thinking and ability to promote continuous self-development. Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) in Computer Science or Engineering is required; MBA or another advanced degree is preferred.
