Summary of Position:
Position is responsible for performing circulation, user’s guidance, and other public service functions in the library such as providing information, assistance to patrons, receiving and answering questions related to circulation and reference and providing technical assistance in other areas related to library functions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform Circulation Services (lending of Books) and tasks related to reference questions at library desk.
- Providing information related to the availability of books and articles and procedural information about their usage.
- Providing information about circulation and reference policies of the library and rights and responsibilities of the users.
- Guide users about the library’s collection management mechanism to locate material on shelves.
- Learn and perform Integrated Library Management System OCLC WMS to perform automated functions of the system to check out, check in, renew and recalling procedure for materials borrowed.
- Receiving, Stamping, data entry and physical preparation of newly received resources in the library.
- Keep tracking of lost and damaged resources to replace them with new ones.
- Receiving complaints, concerns or feedbacks from library users and sharing it with librarian.
- Perform Exhibits and Newly Arrival Displays in the library with thematic displays.
- Oversee the housekeeping of the library space and coordinate with other departments to maintain smooth function of the space.
- Routing telephone, calls, messages and emails to relevant departments, check the security gate’s function and its connectivity with the software.
- Assist users in photocopy and print related technical tasks and coordinate with security department for the safety of the space.
- Check stock of the required stationary in the library, library supplies related to technical services and IT related equipment and coordinate with concerned department to keep it up to date.
- Assist Librarian in compiling lists for book orders and perform PRs in SAP.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in library science or Equivalent in other disciplines from a reputable institution
- Experience in library related jobs: Technical, Reference or Circulation Services
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills in English to understand the contents of the library and curricular needs of the academic programs.
- Flexible to work in different shifts, mornings and evenings.
