Procurement Specialist / Senior Procurement Specialist (Projects Procurement Department RG Metals)
About the role
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to join the Projects Procurement Department, supporting capital projects and equipment supply for a CIP/CIL gold processing plant. You will run sourcing and contracting end to end, from internal requests to signed contracts and their administration, and work with international suppliers, including Chinese counterparties.
Responsibilities
•Interact with internal customers: clarify needs, review technical specifications, agree on procurement strategy and timelines
•Run procurement procedures in line with Subsoil User Procurement Rules (No. 355) and internal regulations
•Source suppliers, request and evaluate bids, negotiate commercial terms and secure the best total cost of ownership
•Prepare, negotiate and conclude international supply contracts (English/Russian, English/Chinese), including delivery, payment and warranty terms
•Administer contracts: monitor delivery schedules, amendments, claims and closing documents
•Prepare regular reports on procurement status, savings and risks
Must have
•University degree (technical, economic or engineering)
•3+ years in sourcing/procurement (Senior: 5+ years, including project procurement)
•Experience in preparing and concluding international (import) contracts; knowledge of Incoterms, payment instruments and customs/currency control basics
•Experience in procurement for subsoil users in mining or comparable heavy industry
•Fluent written and spoken English
•Strong negotiation and communication skills, ability to reach agreed results
•Ability to work independently, handle a large volume of documentation and meet deadlines
Nice to have
•Working knowledge of Chinese (a strong advantage; HSK 4+ or equivalent)
•Experience in project/capital-construction procurement (EPC, long-lead equipment)
•Experience in sourcing from major mining/processing equipment OEMs (e.g., Metso, FLSmidth, Atlas Copco, Astec/Osborn) or comparable suppliers
•Experience with CIP/CIL gold processing plants (operating or project stage)
•Experience with ERP/1C systems
Working conditions
•Office-based, 5/2, Astana, 08:00–17:00
•Regular business trips to the production site (Raigorodok, Shchuchinsk)
