Juru is looking for a Head of Energy Efficiency (EE) who will lead our Energy Efficiency team as part of our Engineering Consulting Business Unit (ECBU) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The person in this role is responsible for real outcomes: the strategic growth of our service portfolio, the profitability of the business unit, the technical quality of our engineering deliverables, and the growth of our team . This role is a full-time, work-from-an-office opportunity.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Key responsibilities:
Business Ownership and Strategy
- You own the business performance of the EE team. You are responsible for the team’s project pipeline, revenue, and profitability. You decide where the team goes next—expanding our service portfolio into commercial/industrial sector energy/resource efficiency assessments/audits, district heating/cooling, green building certifications, and new regional markets. You report directly to the Head of ECBU.
Technical and Operational Excellence
- You own the delivery cycle for the team’s current portfolio, which includes comprehensive energy audits, low-carbon HVAC system design, and building energy modelling & assessment. More importantly, you will drive our operational expansion into new technical frontiers. We expect you to lead our push into industrial energy efficiency assessments, facility-level resource efficiency audits, green building certifications, among other promising areas. The standard we hold ourselves to is on-time, on-budget delivery without sacrificing quality. You will track project margins, manage resource utilization, and clear operational roadblocks.
Leadership Authority and Team Growth
- You own the team structure. You take full responsibility for hiring, performance management, allocating project duties, and staff development. You will manage and mentor a growing team of engineers and sustainability specialists, earning their respect through your strong technical engineering and analytical background.
Client and Stakeholder Management
- You act as the primary commercial and operational point of contact for key clients and partners on major projects, such as our work with the IFIs, governments/ministries, or the private sector. You design clear communication channels and turn complex engineering constraints into actionable updates for leadership and clients—not just passing along reports, but providing an honest reflection of project health.
Who you are
- Owner: If a project budget is slipping, a team member is struggling, or a market opportunity is being missed, you notice it and act on it.
- Technical Leader: You possess the technical credibility to challenge senior engineers and the commercial understanding to discuss project value with clients.
- Multitasker: You manage team capacity, project margins, and business development at the same time without losing detail.
- Communicator: You communicate clearly with clients, technical experts, and leadership — adjusting your approach depending on who you are speaking to.
Key requirements:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, etc.), Project Management, or a related field;
-
6-8 years of progressive experience in engineering consultancy, with a solid mix of technical execution and team/business leadership within sustainable buildings, industrial efficiency, or HVAC sectors;
-
Proven track record of managing project profitability, structuring technical teams, and driving business development;
-
Strong communication skills in English, with Uzbek and Russian being an advantage;
Nice to have
-
Additional degree or certification in Business Administration (e.g., MBA) or Project Management (e.g., PMP);
-
Exposure to logistics and delivery on major IFI-funded projects.
-
A competitive salary package that reflects your executive contribution and business ownership.
-
We support our team's well-being and life milestones with several benefits.
-
Learning and development opportunities, including on-the-job and online training, will be provided.
-
Our office is located in the city center of Tashkent, offering a comfortable and professional space to work.
