About the Role

The Global Engagement Assistant, working under the supervision of the Office’s designated lead, supports AUT’s international academic partnerships, student mobility, and global engagement initiatives, with particular emphasis on collaboration with Arizona State University and student pathways to the United States, while assisting with international correspondence, exchange applications, documentation, orientation programs, and student outreach activities, and leveraging outstanding English proficiency, first-hand academic experience at a U.S. university, substantial extracurricular involvement, and an established social media presence.

The role is open to final-year undergraduate students and graduates. A completed bachelor’s degree is not an essential recruitment requirement, subject to any mandatory qualification requirements applicable to the registered position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with universities and international partner organizations.

  • Support AUT-ASU student transfer and pathway processes, including application tracking, documentation and coordination with relevant university offices.
  • Prepare professional correspondence, schedule partner meetings and follow up on agreed actions.
  • Research academic exchange programs, scholarships and grant opportunities, including Erasmus+, UN, US Government and Uzbekistan Government initiatives.
  • Assist with applications, project documentation and reporting under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate records of partnerships, student applications, exchange activities and deadlines.
  • Help organize and deliver student orientation sessions, information events and activities preparing students for international study.
  • Provide practical guidance on exchange applications, preparation for studying abroad and adjustment to US university life.
  • Refer academic advising, admission, eligibility and credit-recognition decisions to authorized staff.
  • Support international visits, partnership events and student engagement activities.
  • Prepare presentations, information materials and student-facing communications.
  • Support social media outreach by creating engaging content about international opportunities, exchanges and AUT-ASU pathways, in coordination with AUT’s Marketing and Communications team.
  • Handle student information and institutional documentation with discretion and confidentiality.

Key requirements:

  • Excellent Communication Skills in English (8.5, supported by documentary evidence); Fluency in Uzbek, Russian

  • Bachelor's Degree (subjects related to international relations or related fields); a Master's Degree will be an advantage. Currently enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s program, or holding a completed bachelor’s degree

  • Work experience of 2-3 years in the related domain. Experience organizing events, coordinating projects or supporting student communities will be an advantage.

  • Expertise with e-mail communication, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Trello, Canva, etc with the ability to deliver clear presentations.

  • International Travel Experience, expertise in any other foreign language will be an added advantage. Prior participation in an academic exchange or study-abroad program at a US university, with first-hand understanding of US academic expectations, university life and student support.

  • An established social media presence with at least 10,000 followers on one platform, demonstrating the ability to create engaging content and connect with student and youth audiences.

  • Substantial extracurricular involvement demonstrates initiative, leadership, teamwork and responsibility.

  • Evidence of reliability and effective follow-through through internships, student activities, volunteering or community projects.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally with students, colleagues and international partners.

  • Professional judgement, discretion and a student-focused approach.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and willingness to learn relevant communication and project-management tools.

  • Availability to fulfil an agreed 60% work schedule alongside any remaining academic commitments.
