Job summary:

The Site Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day site supervision and coordination of several new superstructure projects as hangar, workshop, buildings, warehouses, catering…etc. to commence in the Airside and Landside areas of Almaty International Airport.

The position will ensure that construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality and safety requirements, project schedule, and applicable Kazakhstan and other required standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily civil and/or architectural construction activities and provide coordination with relevant Mechanical and Electrical Projects.
  • Check works against approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Monitor contractor manpower, materials, equipment, and site progress.
  • Identify technical issues, delays, and site problems and report them to the Head of Construction.
  • Follow up RFIs, shop drawings, material approvals, and technical issues.
  • Follow up agreed actions and outstanding work.
  • Coordinate inspections and testing with QA/QC.
  • Follow up defects, NCRs, and corrective actions.
  • Work with HSE to ensure safe construction activities and compliance with airport requirements.
  • Monitor and verify actual progress against the approved construction programme.
  • Provide regular progress updates, reports and photographic progress records.

  • Organization of testing, commissioning, inspections, and acceptance.
  • Follow up as-built drawings and required handover documents, including applicable ST RK commissioning requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architecture.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant site/construction experience.
  • Experience in building, infrastructure, airport, or industrial projects is preferred.
  • Good understanding of construction methods and drawings.
  • Knowledge of ST RK, GOST, and Kazakhstan construction requirements is an advantage.
  • Airport construction experience is an advantage.

Software & Languages

  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Good command of English.
  • Knowledge of Kazakh and Russian.
