JTI Kazakhstan is looking for an Production Industrial Safety Control Engineer to strengthen our industrial safety framework, ensure the safe operation of hazardous technical equipment and support compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Production Industrial Safety Control Engineer
What you will do
- Perform industrial safety production control across manufacturing, engineering and support areas
- Maintain accurate registers of hazardous and other technical equipment
- Monitor inspection, testing, repair, modernization and industrial safety assessment deadlines
- Conduct scheduled, unscheduled and targeted internal inspections
- Identify safety violations, issue corrective instructions and follow up on their timely closure
- Verify equipment passports, operating instructions, inspection records and other technical documentation
- Monitor the safe operation of boilers, pressure vessels, compressors, pipelines, elevators, hoists and lifting equipment
- Participate in investigations of accidents, incidents, equipment failures and recurring defects
- Assess industrial safety risks and propose corrective and preventive measures
- Monitor contractors’ compliance with industrial safety requirements
- Support inspections conducted by government authorities and manage official communication on industrial safety matters
- Prepare monthly reports on inspection results, critical risks, corrective actions and required management decisions
- Support emergency preparedness, response exercises and the implementation of risk-reduction measures
- Apply Integrated Work System principles and tools, including Daily Management Systems and the Plan-Do-Check-Act approach
Who we are looking for
- Higher technical education in engineering, industrial safety, energy, mechanics, equipment operation or a related field
- At least three years of relevant engineering experience in equipment operation, maintenance, repair, inspection or industrial safety
- Strong knowledge of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s industrial safety and civil protection legislation
- Practical understanding of requirements for hazardous technical equipment and production control
- Experience in conducting audits, inspections and compliance assessments
- Knowledge of technical inspection, industrial safety assessment and equipment lifecycle requirements
- Ability to investigate incidents, analyse root causes and develop preventive measures
- Strong reporting, documentation and stakeholder-management skills
- Confidence in working with electronic registers, databases and spreadsheets
- Fluency in Kazakh and Russian, with English at B1 level or above
- Independence, accountability and the ability to raise safety concerns constructively
